This position will provide a wide variety of administrative support to the Chemistry Department in a manner that enables the department to operate efficiently and professionally.

Responsibilities:

Provide general administrative support to the Chemistry Department including but not limited to the following:

  • Coordinate with outside laboratories for additional testing on batches, finished goods and raw materials

  • Ensure outside testing results are received within a timely manner, interpreting and recording results per SOPs

  • Receiving and organization of incoming/outgoing samples in proper laboratory log books and sample room

  • Schedule all samples for appropriate testing

  • File & scan paperwork as needed

  • Following and ensuring all safety procedures

  • Make certain all necessary materials are at hand when needed by tracking expiration dates of reagents, and restocking materials, reagents and general office supplies

  • Cleaning equipment, laboratory instruments, and glassware

Key Qualities:

  • Minimum of Associates Degree in STEM related field preferred

  • Office/clerical work experience preferred

  • Ability to provide strong analytical judgement in a responsible manner by being knowledgeable, proactive and supportive as required

  • Ability to prioritize and efficiently manage multiple tasks, while maintaining attention to detail, and meeting deadlines required

  • Computer skills with proficiency in Word, Excel, and Outlook, and ability to learn other software programs used by the department, required

  • Good interpersonal communication skills required
