Maintenance Mechanic

Safetec of America, Inc. has been a trusted source of infection control, first-aid, and compliance products for over 30 years. We are a local, family-owned, OTC pharmaceutical manufacturing company with a reputation for retaining employees because we treat them like family. We are seeking a Maintenance Mechanic to support the performance and reliability of our production and facility equipment through preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs. This role plays a key part in minimizing downtime, ensuring safety and compliance, and keeping our operations running smoothly.
Monday - Friday 7:00 am to 3:30 pm
Responsibilities:
- Perform routine preventive maintenance and emergency repairs on packaging and blending equipment
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues
- Repair and rebuild equipment components to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime
- Assess machinery performance and identify root causes of equipment failures
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the maintenance shop and tools
- Support manufacturing with equipment changeovers
- Execute preventive maintenance tasks on production and facility equipment to support efficiency and safety
- Collaborate with production and cross-functional teams to improve equipment reliability and performance
- Maintain records of repairs, inspections, and equipment performance
- Monitor and manage spare parts inventory to ensure the availability of critical components
- Ensure compliance with GMP, OSHA, FDA, and company safety regulations
- Maintain a safe work environment and adhere to all standard operating procedures
- Assist with special projects and manufacturing initiatives as needed
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience in industrial maintenance, preferably in a manufacturing or packaging environment
- Strong mechanical aptitude with working knowledge of electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems
- Ability to troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair a wide range of equipment issues
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and equipment drawings
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety and quality
- Experience working in a GMP-regulated or pharmaceutical manufacturing environment
